Bio

Jo has worked with people from all walks of life for over two decades. Jo's earliest work experience led her into the retail and business world before the teaching of adults in a TAFE setting. Jo realises that this experience has helped her to understand and relate to a wide range of clients.

Jo has worked in various settings since studying social work, graduating with honours, and completing a postgraduate qualification in family therapy and clinical supervision. These include training and assessing in business and education sectors, supervising in the Children's Contact Service, counselling in the Parenting Orders program, and mediating for non-government organisations in two states. Jo has also worked in the aged care sector, as well as with counselling in a government family violence service. Jo also has over two decades of experience in private practice.

Jo specialises in working with children from age four and their parents and has trained extensively in Child Inclusive Practice and child development and attachment.

On a national level, Jo has held a role for the past fifteen years on the Clinical Steering Committee for Child Inclusive Practice and has presented at Forums in Perth, Western Australia, and in Darwin. As a member of the Association of Child and Family Development and Psychodynamic Counselling, Jo's Podcast was released in October 2021, where an interview on the impacts of separation on families can be heard.

Jo is an experienced Family Therapist, Psychotherapist and Accredited Mental Health Social Worker who utilises a client-centred approach to work with clients on their goals.

In addition, as an Integrative Health Coach, Jo is particularly interested in health and working with individuals seeking to manage or improve their overall emotional, mental and physical well-being.

Jo believes that health and well-being encompasses mental, emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual journeys.
